BOATING SKILLS & SEAMANSHIP COURSE
The U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary’s Boating Skills And Seamanship is a comprehensive course designed for both the experienced and novice boater. Successful completion off the course qualifies one for the Washington State Boater Education card. Class meets off campus at Seattle Maritime Academy, 4455 Shilshole Ave. N.W. (Ballard).

LEARN TO ROW
Rowing (crew) offers a low-impact workout that benefits the entire body. Lake Union Crew’s popular Learn to Row class will teach you the fundamentals of both sweep rowing, (one oar) sculling, (two oars) in addition to the basics of boat handling. Whether you want to row fast as part of a team, or picture yourself gliding along in a single, this is the place to start. REQUIREMENT: Participants will be required to sign a waiver stating that they can stay afloat for 10 minutes. $85 materials fee payable to instructor first class. Note: Tuesday/Thursday classes meet in the evening, 6:30-8:00pm and Saturday classes meet 9:30-11:00am.
